Working Title: Fight or Flight

Concept Statement: Aviation with aliens!

Genre or Category: Flight sim, shooter

Concept creation process/area and Influences: Mashup based around Looping, blending ideas and mechanics from A Maze Race 2. Enemies are inspired by Space Invaders and everything influenced by it.

Audience and competitive analysis: Naturally, 2D flight simulators will be competing with 3D flight simulators, and with such a great volume of those (most notably Microsoft flight simulator 2020, an absolutely beautiful game) something as simple as a Looping clone would struggle to find footing in a competitive market.

Game treatment and concept art: Once you are flying, you can’t stop, and you can only move up and down. Your plane will gradually speed up as you face a myriad of obstacles in the sky, from lightning to hot air balloons, and sometimes other planes!

Random events will happen the further you fly, challenging your piloting abilities.

Equally random powerups will occasionally fall from the sky, blessing you with invisibility, invincibility, and weapons.

If you fly far enough, your final challenge will be to land at the airport on the other side, with all of your cargo and passengers safely aboard.

If time allows, an optional second perspective (top-down) may be implemented.

The start screen will offer three levels of difficulty.
